Once you have created a pool and a plan, you can grant options from it.

Note: Before adding a granting transaction, confirm that you have already created the Pool  and the Plan from which you want to grant. Learn more about creating a pool and creating a plan.

For each of the methods above, you will find below the 1st and 2nd steps necessary to reach the relevant window to grant options. Once on this window, the subsequent steps (3-9) are the same for each of the methods and can be found at the end of the page.

Granting options on the Plans page

  1. Go to the Equity Plans > Plans page
  2. Hover over the Plan you want to grant options from, click on the Grant options icon on the right-hand side, and the "Grant options" window will appear

Granting options on the Grants page

  1. Go to the Equity Plans > Grants page
  2. Click on the Add grant button on the top right corner, and on the "From plan" field, select the Option plan you want to grant options from.

Granting options on the Transactions page

  1. Go to the Ownership > Transactions page
  2. Click on the Add transaction button on the top right corner, and under Equity Plan Transactions, click Single Grant. On the "From plan" field, select the Option plan you want to grant options from.

  3. In the grant window, fill out the relevant fields:
        • Stakeholder: the stakeholder or legal entity to whom you want to grant options

        • From plan: the plan from which you want to grant options (this field will be predefined with the name of the plan on which you have clicked on the "Grant options" icon)

        • Number of grants: the number of options to be granted to the stakeholder

          Note: above the Granted amount field, you may see an indication of how many options are still grantable from that specific pool. For example, if it says "Available: 900", it is an indication that there are still 900 options grantable from the selected pool

        • Grant date: the date on which the grant was allotted to the stakeholder

        • Expiry date (optional): the date at which the options lapse/expire 

  4. (Optional) Click on Prices to add Strike price, Purchase price, and/or Currency:
    1. Strike price: the price per option that the stakeholder will have to pay if they want to exercise their options in the future

    2. Purchase price: the price per option that the stakeholder has to pay to acquire it

    3. Currency: the grant transaction's currency (if different from the company's base currency).

      Note: If a currency is selected, it will be necessary to insert the exchange rate between the two currencies
  5. (Optional) Click on Document templating and signature workflow and activate the respective toggles if you would like to create a transaction document(s) from templates and prepare signature requests for the same transaction documents.   6. (Optional) Click on Vesting to add a vesting schedule. On the Type field select Time (simple)Time (custom), or Performance, and fill out the relevant fields. 

    Note: The options Time (custom) and Performance are only available for the Growth and Scale plan. If you are currently on the Launch plan and you are interested in upgrading to the Growth or Scale plan, follow this link.
  7. (Optional) Click on Documents if you wish to add any files related to the grant transaction

  8. (Optional): Click on Stakeholder beneficiary, in case the options are granted to a legal entity that has a beneficiary
  9. (Optional) Click on Internal Note if you want to add any note related to the transaction
